How UV-rays
damage your skin |
Skin care with PA
Ultra-Violet A rays penetrate down to the deepest layer of skin to damage collagen
and elastin. This affects skin tautness and tension.
As a result, blotches and wrinkles can appear and damaged skin will start to sag.
Skin care with SPF
Ultra-Violet B rays penetrate the upper layers of the skin, causing inflammation and
damaging DNA. As a result, there is excessive production of melanin, causing blotches and
spots, freckles and dryness.

| Q: What does SPF stand for? |
A: SPF stands for "sun protection factor" and it's a measure
of how long you can stay exposed to the sun without burning. We learned that if you begin
to tan or burn after 10 minutes, and SPF of 50 extends your protection 50 times* longer.
* SPF numbers serve as a subjective guideline that depends on your complexion or skin
type, the strength of the sunlight, the type of sunscreen you use (gel, cream, lotion, or
oil), and the amount you apply.

| Q: What does PA mean? |
A: PA means protection grade of UV-A.
- PA+ has UV-A protection function (meant for sensitive skin and skin
that is not under severe strong sunshine).
- PA++ has more UV-A protection function than PA+ (meant for normal skin
that is not under very strong sunshine).
- PA+++ has extreme strong UV-A protection function (meant for normal
skin that is under very strong sunshine, e.g. swimming, playing golf, etc.)
